Typing Games for 5th Graders
The common typing games for 5th grade kids include Fast Type Racer and Save the Captain. Fast Type Racer involves using a race to improve the gamer’s accuracy and speed. The speed of the animal is directly influenced by the gamer’s speed. The gamer is first asked to insert their name followed by the animal of their choice.
The game then starts where the gamer types a sentence alongside other gamers and the fastest and most accurate typer wins the race. At the end of the race the typing speed in words per minute(WPM) as well as percentage accuracy and the score is given.
Save the Captain is among the best typing games for 11 year olds that takes kids to a space-themed mission. The gamer helps the captain escape attacking rockets by typing the words fused to these rockets. The animated keyboard on the screen shoots matching letters upon correct typing and once done the rocket is shot down and in return saving the captain’s ship.
To beat this game the gamer must put all their focus on the screen which improves their speed. The animated keyboard is a key indicator of how important touch typing and muscle memory is for the young learner’s journey.
